One Heart Sound

One Heart Sound

‘A generation reaching their generation for Jesus’

One Heart Sound represents a network of youth groups and youth organisations from across the borough of Dudley. Working within the framework of the Love Dudley Network, this group has a vision and plan to impact a generation of young people in Dudley and beyond.

Mission 2020

During March 2018, One Heart Sound worked in partnership with The Message Trust to bring the Higher Tour into Dudley schools. After the Higher Tour concluded, a group of Dudley leaders agreed to continue to meet together with the intention of listening to God, working together and pursuing transformation specifically amongst young people in our borough.

  • Our primary geographic focus is within the Dudley borough but our hands and hearts are open to share, network and learn from the wider Black Country and beyond.
  • Our primary focus in terms of who we are trying to reach is young people (11-18) but we acknowledge the importance of children and young adults.
  • ‘One Heart Sound’ is the youth arm of the Love Dudley Network and also maintains a strong relational connection to the Love Black Country Network.

Mobilising People to Pray

The WHY - The biblical pattern is to first pray and then act. The great social reformer of the Old Testament Nehemiah first prayed before he presented the people’s needs before the seat of power and influence.

The WHAT - A call to fast and pray for youth/children across the borough. We supply simple resources such as stats, stories, scriptures and prayer pointers.

The WHEN - Regular times throughout the year we will arrange a prayer gathering. Keep an eye on social media for the next date in 2020!

Equipping churches to Disciple

The WHY - Churches need to be prepared and ready to welcome, embrace, disciple and empower the next generations. We will also explore growing the numbers of youth and children’s workers.

The WHAT - Creating a Learning Community. Each church that signs up is invited to send a few key leaders including church leaders, youth & kids leaders, Key Volunteers, young people to the Learning Community programme.

The WHEN - initially it will be just a few churches (those currently engaged) but the intention is to increase the number of churches in 2020. Please contact deb@loveblackcountry.org.uk for more info.

Inspiring and Equipping Young People to Reach their Friends

The WHY - Our young people are the ones best placed to reach their generation. If we are to think longer term, we need to invest in them so they can reach their friends

The WHAT -  A one day Midlands Youth Conference where young people will be inspired and equipped to get a vision for their generation, to see what God could do in and through them and to begin to cast vision for what the next decade could look like.

The WHEN - Saturday 19th September 2020 - for more details contact Deb Chamberlain - deb@loveblackcountry.org.uk
