Saltmine Theatre Company’s Wonderland is a new mental health production (available in three filmed episodes, with accompanying workshop plans) which focusses on issues such as anxiety, self-identity and loneliness.  Inspired by ‘Alice in Wonderland’, in this production we follow 14-year-old Alice into a surreal world full of extraordinary characters and watch her make connections between their ‘madness’ and the issues she faces in her own life.

Wonderland Episode 1 focusses on identity including body-image and self-esteem, and asks pupils to consider the goals they set themselves.

Wonderland Episode 2 invites pupils to question how they use social media, and how to balance it with pursuing genuine connection in offline friendships.

Episode Two Taster: https://youtu.be/tMzBmZThdv4

Wonderland Episode 3 encourages pupils to critique sensationalist news headlines and to acknowledge the danger of toxic positivity; it ends with pupils creating their own Self-Care List to help them navigate the post-lockdown world.
