Anyone across Love Black Country network or known to the Love Black Country organisation who might be interested in finding out more about and potentially volunteering as a foundation governor in a Church school. This governance role is particularly important as it supports Church schools to uphold their Christian foundation. We would love to recruit Christians who are keen to ensure that every Church school lives out its Christian vision.
Across the diocese, there have been many challenges recruiting foundation governors. In the first instance, we would usually look to the local parish to find potential volunteers who would be interested in this role. Unfortunately, this has become increasingly difficult. Therefore, part of my role is to support schools to find suitable Christians who are willing to give some time to help Church schools by becoming foundation governors. They would need a leader in their church to recommend them as a suitable candidate.
I have documents which might be a helpful guide for any potential governors. I would also be happy to chat with anyone interested in advance of committing to the role. Thank you.
