JOB: Technician

Accountable to: CEO
Reporting to: Co-Artistic Director
Location as required: Saltmine HQ & Production Venues as required
Salary: £22,500 – £25,500 depending on experience
Hours: Full time (37.5 per week)
Holiday: 25 days per annum, plus 8 standard bank holidays

Saltmine Trust are looking for a Technician to join the Creative Team to support with all aspects of technical work for our performances, events and exhibitions. You will work alongside the Co-Artistic Director to deliver high quality technical support for the charity’s diverse programme of theatre, having the opportunity to create performance material e.g. sound, special effects and video, and be part of a team delivering high levels of professionalism and success. The role would suit a graduate wishing to develop a broad range of skills whilst learning alongside experienced professional practitioners in a practical setting which could lead to a senior technician position.

An ideal candidate for this role would be resourceful, knowledgeable and a strong team player, happy to work on their own and within a team. Prior experience of working with Champsys MagicQ lighting software, Qlab and/or Allen & Heath consoles would be an advantage but not essential as training will be provided. As this role carries a high level of safeguarding responsibility, a full safeguarding check will be carried out on the successful applicant. You will also need to hold a driving licence and have a willingness to travel.
