Job Vacancy: City Wellbeing Project Lead – ChaplaincyPlus Birmingham

Do you want to be part of an exciting new role championing the wellbeing of people across the business community in Birmingham?

ChaplaincyPlus is looking to recruit a part-time Project Lead for the City Wellbeing Initiative, an exciting project that forms a key part of our 2020-2023 strategy.

ChaplaincyPlus is an independent Christian charity providing a neutral and safe space giving Birmingham professionals space to explore issues of life and work, whatever their beliefs or background. We have been offering mental, emotional and spiritual support to the business community in Birmingham since 2003.

Since our inception, we have maintained a supportive network of Christians in the business community, providing prayerful one-to-one pastoral support. Through our Christian Business Network we also combat isolation and encourage Christians to be confident about their faith in the workplace by organising inspiring events, offering resources, and connecting people across the business community.

Building on our work in the city we are expanding our reach by offering practical support and thought leadership to Birmingham workplaces in the area of employee wellbeing through our new City Wellbeing Initiative (CWI).

As Project Lead for the CWI you will take overall responsibility for the presentation and successful launch of the project and for its ongoing development to meet client needs. In this exciting new role, you will be responsible for all aspects of project management including: generating income by recruiting new member businesses; oversight of the ongoing service delivery; coordination of volunteers; practical involvement in the delivery of the day-to-day services offered.

You will need:
• Experience working in business with current knowledge of wellbeing issues in the workplace
• Project management & financial control experience
• A relational approach to working with strong leadership skills
• A professional, persuasive approach to recruit new businesses to join the CWI
• Excellent ‘people’ skills with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships

CWI is a project of ChaplaincyPlus and as such it must promote the charitable purposes for which ChaplaincyPlus exists. This includes being closely aligned with our Christian values and principles and participating in, and at times leading Christian prayer and acts of worship. Due to the nature of the work, in accordance with the Employment Equality (Religion and Belief) regulations 2010, there is a Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR) for the post-holder to be an active & practising Christian.

15 hours (2 days) per week | £12,000 | 1 Year Initial Contract

Currently we are working remotely, however we expect the successful post-holder to work from the office in Birmingham city centre (with some flexibility of home working) once restrictions have been lifted.

Deadline for applications: Midnight on 25th April 2021.

For more information and details of how to apply please contact Executive Director Steve Bavington – steve.bavington@chaplaincyplus.org.uk.
