School Chaplaincy Opportunities in Dudley

Dudley Multi-Academy Trust have tasked Matt Brookes, a local church leader in Dudley, for help with finding chaplains for their four secondary schools. The schools are:

  • The Link (formerly Hillcrest, Netherton)
  • Pegasus (formerly Holly Hall, Dudley)
  • St James (formerly Castle High, Dudley)
  • Beacon Hill (formerly High Arcal, Sedgley)

Chaplains are to be people with good listening skills, patient, non-judgmental and have a passion to see young people and staff thrive. They are there for both pupils and staff alike, for those with faith and those with no faith. This role is not directly an opportunity to evangelise the school but a chance to support and care for both pupils and staff.. All chaplains require a current DBS, this will be arranged by the schools.

The initial commitment is one lunchtime visit a week with a view to eventually covering every lunchtime, if enough volunteers are available. Lunchtimes are one and a half hours, 12:15 – 1:45pm

Matt will liaise with volunteers, schools and the chaplains and will also arrange training and ongoing support throughout the year for the chaplains. Volunteers will have the opportunity to network with the chaplains from the Invictus Trust who have six schools in their portfolio.

This is a fabulous opportunity to touch the life of a school and the children who are in it.

If you would like to be considered for this role, please contact Matt on 07810 660649.
