Silent No More Conference

More than 3 million adults in England and Wales were victims of child sexual abuse, new figures show. One in seven adults who experienced child abuse say they hadn’t told anyone about it before, prompting concerns about under-reporting of abuses against children today (Jan 12 2020 Independent.co.uk)

Women who have suffered sexual abuse as a child will be able to find help and solace at a new ground-breaking national conference set up to tackle this taboo topic.

Restoration Church in Walsall hopes organising “Silent No More” will be the catalyst for change to equip and release Christian women who have suffered from childhood sexual abuse. It also wants to raise awareness of the issue to help empower churches to address the after-effects of childhood sexual abuse among their congregations.

Speakers are: Patricia, a committed christian, who was neglected and abused between the ages of 14 and 16, will be one of the speakers on May 16th, 2020 at The Village Hotel in Walsall, along with Laura Brett from Press Red (a ministry which aims to eradicate abuse and violence against women) and Claudia Bell from Thirtyone:eight (a Christian Charity which aims to protect vulnerable people from abuse).

The speakers will share their experiences while providing a biblical foundation for the restoration of those who want ministry. The conference will be interspersed with worship and prayer.

Early Bird tickets can now be booked for £29.97 + booking fee until March 31st, 2020
Standard tickets after that date will cost £39.97 + booking fee. The Ticket price includes lunch and refreshments throughout the day.
