Expand Year Out
IS GOD CALLING YOU TO STEP OUT NEXT YEAR?
Expand is a year out programme aimed at Christian young people aged 18-25. Expand starts in September each year and runs through to July. It is run by a partnership of Dudley churches in association with the Love Dudley and Love Black Country Next Gen.
Vision
Expand is designed to be a year out programme that will provide you with the time and opportunity to explore God's call on your life. Taking a year out for Jesus is an adventure that will allow you to discover your calling and make a real different in people lives.
Content of the Year Out
Expand is a part time year out programme (3 days a week), with three elements:
- Grow – Jesus call us to become like Him and to become our true selves - all that God has created us to be. Following Jesus is all about this journey of personal growth so that you can take your place in the Kingdom of God and lead the life that Jesus calls you to. As part of the Expand Year Out, you will spend one day each week pursuing the call of God to grow in knowledge, understanding, faith, passion, holiness, integrity, leadership and love through the teaching and input of local Christian leaders.
- Give – Jesus modelled servant leadership and claimed that to follow Him meant to give to others. Each week you will serve Jesus in your local church (or, for some, a new local church), investing your life, energy, skills, abilities and leadership for benefit of your church family.
This will be moulded around each church and individual, so that as well as giving you the opportunity to love your church family, it will also continue your growth and development, as well as allowing you to explore your passions and, perhaps, discern more of God's call on your life.
- Go – Jesus call us to take the light of the gospel into the world. The life of love and adventure He calls us to is never just for us, but for our broken community and nations. During the year you will have the opportunity to step out in mission to develop friendships with those yet to know Christ and to share the love of Jesus with them.You will also go on an international mission trip. Partnering with long-term missionaries, you will get a taste of what it means to serve Jesus overseas, bringing the hope of the gospel to some of the world's most disadvantaged people. You will see first-hand the joys and challenges that confront those who are called to make a difference for Jesus overseas.
As the programme is part-time, it can can be combined with employment or education; however, if you would like to do this full time we can also arrange that.
