Yesterday, Education Secretary Gavin Williamson MP visited Walsall’s Studio School to meet students and view the work being done with apprenticeships and T-Levels.
Walsall Studio School, part of the Mercian Trust Academy, will be one of the first schools or colleges in the country to develop and teach the new gold standard T-Level qualifications. From 2020 the studio school will deliver the new T-Level in Digital Production, Design and Development.
Kevin Davis, founding Chairman of Walsall Studio School, CEO of The Vine Trust and Co-Leader of the Church at Junction 10 and Love Walsall, was proud to show Mr Williamson around the school.
“Having the opportunity to showcase to Gavin Williamson our T-Level and Ladder 4 England apprenticeship journey was a real honour.”
Mr Williamson’s visit comes just a few weeks before hundreds of Christians from across Walsall are set to join together and pray for Education in their borough.
On Sunday 29th September, churches from across the borough will be meeting together for a special Love Walsall joint service at St Matthew’s Church to hear about the issues facing the education sector and pray for schools, teachers, pupils and all those involved with education in Walsall.
Walsall’s Room 1 Project will be leading worship, themselves a collaborative group of Christians from across the borough. The event will start at 6:30pm and all are welcome.
