Volunteer Mentors Wanted: Ys Girl Programme

Responsible to: Y’s Girl Programme Manager | Location: YMCABCG Temple Street, Wolverhampton and a number of outreach locations within our funded Areas within the Black Country. Working from home during current COVID-19 restrictions.

We are looking for volunteers who are eager to make a difference in their own community and make a difference in the life of a young person. The Programme will focus on engagement with girls in the 8-14 year old age group.

The mentor will regularly meet up with a young person offering a friendly ear, support and guidance and advice on making positive life choices. There will also be a need for the mentor to build a relationship with the young person’s parents/guardians, although the main focus is the young person. Full training will be given and a DBS check will be required (no cost involved).

The ability to respect the Christian Ethos of the YMCA and upholding its values is also an essential part of this role.

The applicant must complete an enhanced DBS check before taking up the role.
