
Job Title: Training and Skills Coordinator
Location: The Glebe Centre, Walsall (and other areas across the Black Country as appropriate)
Reporting to: The Glebe Centre Manager
Hours: 30 hours per week – fixed term until March 2026
Salary: £22,276 per annum
Background:
YMCA Black Country Group (YMCA BCG) is the branch of the YMCA global movement in the Black Country. YMCA BCG operates charitable companies & associated trading subsidiaries in the Black Country boroughs and South Staffordshire area. The combined turnover of the group is in excess of £6M, delivering a wide range of community services including supported housing, youth work, childcare and family support, drug and alcohol counselling, skills and employment training, health and well-being services. YMCA BCG employs over 170 staff and also works with around 50 volunteers and voluntary trustees.
Location Background:
The Glebe Centre is a multi-functional hub from where a variety of services are delivered that seek to provide support to homeless and temporarily housed adults in Walsall experiencing additional issues that make them vulnerable. Staff and volunteers work with individuals who have differing, complex, needs and, consequently, the Centre provides a combination of both support services and practical facilities.
Job Purpose: To lead and encourage service users to engage in meaningful activities in order to support, enhance and develop the skills and knowledge needed to enable individuals to grow, progress and flourish.
