Location: YMCABCG Temple Street, Wolverhampton and a number of outreach locations within our funded Areas. Working from home during current COVID-19 restrictions but with face to face interactions in line with government road map.
We are looking for volunteers who are eager to make a difference in their own community and make a difference in the life of a young person. The Programme will focus on engagement with girls in the 9-14 year old age group.
The mentor will regularly meet up with a young person offering a friendly ear, support and guidance and advice on making positive life choices and engaging them in activities within their community. There will also be a need for the mentor to build a relationship with the young person’s parents/guardians, although the main focus is the young person. Full training will be given and a DBS check will be required (no cost involved).
The ability to respect the Christian Ethos of the YMCA and upholds its values is also an essential part of this role.
The applicant must complete an enhanced DBS check before taking up the role.
