Volunteers wanted for Provision House

Provision house (formerly Loaves n Fishes) exists to help those that had been affected by domestic violence, human trafficking, residents of that black country affected by extreme poverty, asylum seekers. Many of these people have had to flee their homes, taking nothing with them. We provide emergency items, to help re-home these individuals and families, which normally includes a bed, bedding, wardrobe, sofa, table and chairs, kitchen ware, small electrical items and something to cook etc… Our motivation is to demonstrate Christ’s Compassion to these individuals and families through the provision of household items , food and clothing to help them re-start their lives afresh.

We need Volunteers that have a heart to help people overcome barriers in their lives. Currently we need volunteers that can help in the following areas:

  • Retail Store
  • Warehouse
  • Transport and Logistics
  • Food Club

Volunteering roles are suitable for retired or semi-retired, who want to give back to their community and can offer ½ a day or a day or more.

  • If you volunteer in the Retail Store, you typically will be helping customer, dressings and displays, till work and sorting out donations.
  • If you volunteer in the Warehouse, you typically will helping to load or unload or vans, store items and fixing and repairing items that have been donated.
  • If you volunteer in the Transport and Logistics area, you typically will helping to collect items from those that are donating items and take items to our clients homes that have been referred to us.
  • If you volunteer in the Food Club, you typically will be helping customers who need financial help, logging details, contacting clients and helping them to choose the right items.

On-going training will be provided as well as the option to learn IT (Digital Technologies) for free.
