Christmas Exodus – A free Christmas resource for churches
Love Black Country Creatives have produced FREE RESOURCES for churches to pray and love their neighbours this Christmas.
“Christmas Exodus” is a short 4-minute film inspired by the government-initiated mass student exodus which began across the country on 2nd December, with thousands of Christmas journeys home starting early this year.
The film is free to download for churches and is ideal to use in Christmas services and on social media over the Christmas period.
The film has been written and produced by Love Black Country Creatives. It features the pandemic experiences of a student, a furloughed worker, a key worker and an old lady in isolation. The short film is ideal to use in online services and on social media over the Christmas period, to remind friends and family that even in the strangest of Christmas circumstances, God is still with us. Who are LBC Creatives?
Love Black Country Creatives are a relational network of Christian Creatives from all over the Black Country. Brought together by a mutual love of Jesus and a shared desire to express the love of God through their creativity, the Creative Group work collaboratively to produce creative productions to bless the Black Country Church and share the good news of Jesus with the region.
The Creative Group were responsible for the “We Are One” video blessing released in July, which has been viewed thousands of times by people all over the world.
What’s included in the Church Resource Pack?
A free Church Resource Pack has been put together which contains:
1. The full 4-minute short film called “Christmas Exodus”.
2. A short video outlining the vision and inspiration behind the film.
3. Four prayer videos for the characters in the film.
The film, which features an original song written by 16-year old Melody Williams from Netherton, follows the stories of 4 characters, each experiencing a very different kind of journey “home” due to Covid, but through the kindness of a shared neighbour, they are each reminded that Christmas is ultimately about God’s journey to find a home in our hearts. And He is always with us.
Alongside the film itself, we have produced four short prayer videos featuring the actors playing each part leading prayer for the characters they play: students, the unemployed, the isolated and key-workers. These prayer films can be used in your online church prayer meetings, your main church services or could even be shared on social media too.
