This event will be staged as part of the Black Country Business Festival 2019 in partnership with Just Finance Black Country.
Since the Financial Crisis in 2008, ethical finance has been headline news. From ethical healthcare provision to ethical business lending, the importance of sustainable, inclusive and responsible lending is clear. This event will see the Black Country Chamber of Commerce commit to a payroll savings scheme, in partnership with our local Wolverhampton City Credit Union, allowing Chamber staff to save money each month. With our partner Just Finance Black Country, we will also be launching our Payroll Savings campaign, championed by our President Julie Cunningham. We aim to encourage other members to make a Payroll Savings commitment with one of the four Credit Unions in the Black Country (Castle & Crystal, 6Towns and Walsave) too. Our local Credit Unions from across the Black Country will be present at this event, on hand to discuss the range of options available.
Aside from our commitments to ethical savings for employees, the keynote speaker for this event is Sir Hector Sants, Chair of the newly formed Money and Pensions Service and the former Chief Executive at the Financial Service Authority and former Chair of Stepchange, the UK’s largest debt advice charity. Sir Hector will be championing our Payroll Savings Campaign as well as discussing his role on the board of the Just Finance Foundation, as well as own views on ethical finance.
The session will also see guest-speakers from Paycare and BCRS Business Loans, who will share their respective views on why ethical finance runs in the very fabric of their respective businesses.
Come along to find out more about the importance of ethical finance and how your employees can benefit from the credit union model.
