2 out of 3 people in our world don’t have access to safe, affordable surgery. In sub-Saharan Africa, 93% of people are living without access to medical care and surgery. Mercy Ships follows the 2000-year-old model of Jesus, bringing hope and healing to the world’s forgotten poor. They operate the world’s largest charity hospital ship, bringing free medical care to West Africa. This life-changing surgery is made possible by a diverse crew of church volunteers, who serve in over 200 skilled roles, from mechanics and teachers, to physios and chefs. The hospital itself is only one deck of eight.
