We are seeking an experienced Estates Manager to join our Professional Services team.
The right person will have knowledge and experience to manage the safe and effective delivery of our present properties, infrastructure and campus services. They will have the vision and skills to play a significant role in the development, management, and delivery of major new projects.
The postholder will manage (and develop as necessary) robust systems to ensure that the campus and the services it provides are of a high standard, sustainable, durable, and aligned to the Foundation’s priorities (including progress towards achieving Net Zero by 2030). They will contribute to the design and delivery of commercial developments in the use of the property.
As the Health and Safety lead, the postholder will need the knowledge and experience to ensure compliance with all mandatory Health & Safety regulations, promoting and embedding sound Health and Safety practices in the life of the Queen’s community. They will hold either NEBOSH or an equivalent qualification.
The postholder will manage a significant allocated budget. They will be responsible for ensuring value for money by applying effecting cost controls and using good negotiation skills in procuring goods and services.
As well as being experienced in the management of substantial properties and their grounds, the ideal candidate will have proven leadership skills, with the ability to lead team of staff in meeting the demands of a busy campus.
This busy and varied role requires the ability to work quickly and to prioritise effectively between tasks, responding to developing needs. There will be a high level of personal responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of the college’s smooth running and management, and the post holder will be expected to use their initiative to anticipate requirements and prioritise efficiently as tasks arise.
The postholder will be a problem-solver who is flexible, resilient, and well-organised will do well in this post.
Excellent IT skills and also written and verbal communication skills are also important for this role.
