JOB – ROC Community Action Group Coordinator

Job Title: ROC Community Action Group Coordinator

Location: Lye

Type: 3-Year Appointment with a 3-Month Trial Period

Salary: £23,400 FTE; part time post 2 to 2.5 days p.w. negotiable

About ROC Lye:

ROC Lye is a dynamic Community Action Group formed as an outcome of the recent ROC Conversation and committed to fostering positive change and community development in Lye. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as the Action Group Coordinator.

Responsibilities:

Objective Fulfilment:
• Work collaboratively with the ROC HQ management team to execute the objectives outlined in our comprehensive report, with a focus on community empowerment and development.

Networking and Relationship Building:
• Establish and nurture connections with local agencies and organisations in Lye.
• Engage in collaborative efforts to strengthen community ties and support networks.

Event Organisation:
• Plan and execute community events, including the proposed annual Community Fayre, cross-cultural activities, and youth conversations.
• Coordinate and conduct a youth survey in schools to gather valuable insights and feedback.

Family Mentors Scheme:
• Explore the possibility of implementing a Family Mentors Scheme to provide support and guidance to families within the community.

Community Engagement:

• Facilitate meetings with key stakeholders such as Police, Council representatives, and other community organisations.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with these entities to enhance community well-being.

Support from Authorities:
• Leverage the full support of the Police, who have indicated their endorsement of our initiatives.

Regeneration Agenda:
• Liaise with Suzanne Webb MP to contribute to and support the regeneration agenda for Lye.

Qualifications and Skills:
• Strong organisational and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Demonstrated experience in community engagement and event planning.
• Knowledge of local agencies and the ability to build effective relationships.
• Understanding of youth-related issues and strategies for effective engagement.
• Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
