Christian Councillors offer free support to frontline workers.

The Association of Christian Counsellors (ACC) have set up a free Covid-19 Crisis Counselling Support Service specifically for NHS staff directly impacted by Covid-19 and those recently bereaved.
Nurses, doctors, ambulance services and other NHS workers, as well people who have lost family members to the virus, are all able to access the support from Monday 27th April 2020. The service will include up to ten remote sessions of counselling on a no-fee basis from qualified counsellors who are volunteering their services.

NHS staff are witnessing distressing events associated with the infection and the bereaved families of former patients do not have the normal rituals and practices that can help people in the early stages of grief. The situation is difficult for all involved – especially when meeting up and connecting with families and friends is not permitted because of self-isolation and/or lockdown. It is hoped that offering a free counselling service will support the emotional needs of those working on the frontline, as well as the families being affected by Covid-19.
