Numbers grow at Walsall breakfast gatherings

Christians in Walsall have been gathering to celebrate the work of God and pray for the future prosperity of the borough.

Love Walsall have been inviting Christians from all walks of life to gather at monthly breakfast meetings for many years now. During the Covid lockdowns, they continued to meet monthly on Zoom to maintain a sense of togetherness amongst the many churches in the borough. Since in-person gatherings have commenced, the attendance at these physical breakfasts has doubled.

Kevin Davis, who helps lead the Love Walsall network, is encouraged by the turn-out in recent months.

“It’s such a powerful statement when Christians gather together. When we come together, despite the differences in the denominations and styles of our churches, to declare the love and favour of God over our borough, it’s a powerful thing to be part of.”

Love Walsall is part of the Love Black Country network, a registered charity with a heart to bring Christians together, to hear the voice of God together and seek the transformation of the region in its widest sense.

Tim Fellows, network coordinator for Love Black Country, is excited by the increased appetite to meet, demonstrated through the Love Walsall breakfasts.

“None of us really knew what in-person gatherings would look like post-covid,” he explains. “Legitimate nerves about mixing in large groups and the potential for people to have simply lost interest in mixing wider than their immediate church circles made us unsure of how to host borough-wide gatherings moving forwards. The turn-out at the Love Walsall breakfasts has proved us all wrong and wiped away any doubts we had. The Body of Christ in Walsall is alive and active and the appetite to stand together on behalf of the borough seems to be stronger than ever.”

The next Love Walsall breakfast will take place on Thursday 2nd December, 7-8:30am at The Table Restaurant (formerly Vines) in Walsall. Tim Summersby, who also helps to lead the Love Walsall network, is anticipating even more people to attend this time.

“We’ve seen attendance at Love Walsall breakfasts grow steadily these past few months. We’re excited to welcome more and more new people to connect with other Christians and pray together for the borough.”
