Job Vacancy: Casual Cleaner

Casual Cleaner Required

About us:

The Greenhouse at Barnes Close is a 17-bedroom retreat and education centre, located in the Waseley Hills close to Frankley / junction 4 of the M5. We host different groups of people and strive to provide a clean and welcoming environment for all our guests. We are looking to add to our happy House-keeping team. We would love to hear from you if you think this could be you! Please look at our website to find out more about us and our location: https://greenhouseatbarnesclose.org.uk/

About you:

You will be reliable, punctual and conscientious. You will be flexible, as the hours of work will be varied.  You will be happy to work as part of a team and alone at some times. Own transport is preferable as public transport can only get you some of the way here.  You will be sympathetic to the ethos of the Centre.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning and organising rooms to a high standard. This will include: bed changing, vacuuming, dusting and polishing, mopping, cleaning of bathrooms, kitchens and kitchen appliances. There may be laundry, ironing and window-cleaning as required. Occasionally, it may involve relocating tables and small items of furniture where necessary.
  • Promote the welcoming and inclusive ethos of the Centre while working. This will include the option of joining in with midday prayers, along with other staff and guests at the Centre.

Hours of work:

  • You will be employed on a zero-hours contract, because the requirements of the role vary from week to week.

  • You will most often be required for 6 hours on Fridays (9.30am – 4pm) which includes a 30-minute (unpaid) lunch break.
  • You may also be offered work on Mondays and Thursdays, though this will vary and cannot be guaranteed.

Rate of pay: You will be paid the National Minimum Wage or National Living Wage.
