Exciting Dreams for Walsall’s High Street

Kevin Davis, one of our Love Walsall Coordinators, recently visited Westminster to meet with Lord Wei, the Christian peer behind the Big Society vision. Lord Wei described his ‘call’ to translate his ‘Ekklesia’ driven town centre transformation initiative, as modelled in Bristol with their Metro Mayor and the local body of Christ, to the Midlands.

Lord Wei has shared his retail, housing, social and spiritual vision with Metro Mayor Andy Street, who now wants this to be explored in Walsall first!

We have since spoken to supportive civic officials in the council and housing department who want to explore this transformational collaborative venture as a model for Walsall, its suburb centres and perhaps the wider Black Country.

We’re extremely excited about what this could mean for the borough of Walsall and urge you to watch this space as the action unfolds!
