How to book a bus for Together 2020

We’ve had lots of people asking us how to go about booking a discounted bus for Together 2020. All Partner Churches have been contacted directly with the information below, but here it is again for those who may missed it.

Booking busses

We are happy to say we have negotiated a deal with National Express who have offered us a sliding cost of busses (either 48-seater single deckers or 72-seater double deckers), depending on how many churches book in with them as follows:

Between 1-10 vehicles: £275
Between 11-20 vehicles: £245
Over 20 vehicles: £200
(All inclusive of VAT)

If you wish to book a bus through National Express, please contact Richard Cawton directly on richard.cawton@nationalexpress.com or by calling him on 07833 286 871. He will be able to confirm a price with you directly as he is handling all bus bookings on our behalf. He will confirm the final price of the bus once everyone has booked in. (We are expecting between 15-25 churches to book busses but obviously cannot guarantee this so please budget for the highest price just in case).

Please make sure you reference Love Black Country in your booking email. The sooner you book in, the sooner Richard will be able to confirm the final price, based on the sliding scale above. You must book your bus no later than Saturday 30^th November 2019.

Arrival times

You will need to arrange with Richard Cawton directly (or your chosen coach company) what time and where you would like your bus to depart from on Saturday 4^th January to arrive at BCC on time.

We are advising all Partner Churches to aim to arrive at BCC NO LATER THAN 4:30PM. Please make this clear when you book your bus. This will ensure that you have enough time to depart from your bus and find your seats well before the event starts at 5PM.

Departure Times

The event will finish at 8pm. You will need to make sure the bus you will return on has correct signage so that your passengers can find it after the event. There will probably be over 20 different busses all going to different parts of the area after the event so correct and clear signage on your bus is essential. Again, please discuss this directly with Richard Cawton at National Express and he will be able to help with this.

Parking

Parking is extremely limited at BCC. The main carpark only has space for 250 cars and many of these are designated disabled spaces. Priority on the carpark will be given first to people with mobility issues and disabilities. The other spaces will be allocated on a first come first served basis to families with very young children who are unable to travel on busses or who may not be able to stay for the entire duration of the event due to their children being too tired/young. Wherever possible though, please encourage families in your church to come on your bus/coach. It will make the whole “Together” experience so much more fun and memorable for all involved and will help massively with the parking limitations at BCC itself.

Food

There will be two breaks during the event, offering people, (i.e. those with hungry children!) the chance to purchase food from the café at BCC or bring their own food to feed their kids. The café serves hot drinks, biscuits, cakes, Danish pastries, sausage rolls, samosas, sandwiches, cold drinks, and various other snacks. Food is not permitted in the auditorium but there is a large seating area next to the café where people can eat. The café will be open from 4:30pm on the day and will remain open throughout the event.

The night itself

The event will be divided into 3 sections. All 3 sections will be suitable for a multi-generational audience. We will be featuring multimedia presentations that highlight the amazing things that God is doing across the region through our togetherness. There will also be times of musical worship and prayer for the region as well as opportunities to hear more about what “Togetherness” means. As it is a multi-generational gathering, every attempt will be made to engage children throughout the event whilst also appealing to a wider audience. Please note that there will be flashing lights used during the event.

We will also be taking an offering during the evening to allow people to contribute towards the ongoing vision and work of Love Black Country.
